How to properly disable the fuel system and replace the Belt Tensioner and Cam Gear on 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio?

Before beginning, disconnect the fuel cut-off solenoid, apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels. Remove the auxiliary drivebelt(s) and timing belt covers. Relieve tension on timing belt, check tensioner & replace if necessary. Reinstall components, making sure that engine is at TDC for No. 1 cylinder.
