2004 Volkswagen Passat Brake Pad Set Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What precautions should be taken when replacing the rear brake pad set and removing the brake caliper on 2004 Volkswagen Passat?
A: Care should be taken when pressing the caliper-free brake pedal. Install caliper guide pin bolts when unscrewed. Loosen vehicle rear wheel bolts, jack up the vehicle and take off the wheels. Undo parking brake, take out the caliper bolt, and prop up the caliper. Rechange brake pads, draw out the piston and reassemble all, making sure that the torque and fluid are correct.
