How to replace the intake air temperature sensor on 2005 Volkswagen Passat?

The intake air temperature sensor is a thermistor which varies in response to an increase or decrease in temperature due to a change in resistance which influences the voltage signal of the ECM. In order to change it, discontinue the electrical connector, eliminate the mounting bolt and pull out the sensor. These processes are reversed to install it.
