- Q: What precautions should be taken when disconnecting the battery and removing the intake manifold for 5-cylinder engines on 2018 Volkswagen Golf?A: Re-learning is required after the removal of the battery of certain systems. Take the pressure off fuel, take off the negative terminal and take the engine cover and air filter housing off. Unscrew fuel lines, electrical connectors and take out the throttle body and intake manifold. Install with new gaskets and install the same in a reverse order.
