How to replace the lift support and trunk lid latch for sedan on 2018 Volkswagen Golf R?

In models that have an inbuilt trunk lock cylinder, the entire latch unit should be replaced. Unscrew the trunk, unscrew the negative battery cable and the inner trim panel. Unscrew the electrical connector of the latch and label its position and remove the connector. Repeat the same with support struts and release switch.
