What steps must be taken to properly disconnect and remove the Engine Control Module on 2019 Volkswagen GTI?

Dislocation of the negative battery terminal to achieve Powertrain Control Module (PCM) which can be in an anti-theft box. Eliminate required parts, and fold up the PCM with the connector still connected. In models with anti-theft, cut or drill shear-head bolts to get PCM out, fitting the PCM back into the same order.
