To get the mirror, which is operated manually, open up the door inner trim panel then the door frame insulation followed by loosening the screw holding the mirror adjustment mechanism and freeing the mirror. Then, unscrew and remove the mirror holding screws in order to unmount the mirror assembly on the door. In the case of an electrically powered mirror, you have to disconnect the mirror wiring connector by first removing the inner trim panel of the door. Then remove the mirror insulation on the door frame, remove the retaining screws, and the mirror assembly but do not forget to resue the rubber seal, which may be broken. In the case of the mirror glass, clipped onto the motor, a wide plastic or wooden wedge should be used to abrasively remove the glass off the motor taking precautions not to press too hard in case the glass breaks. When it is required, disconnect the wiring connectors with the mirror heating element when the glass has been removed. In the case of the electrically driven mirror motor, the mirror glass will have to be removed and the holding screws unscrewed, followed by removal of the motor and the disconnection of the wiring connector of the motor becomes possible. The reverse order in which installation takes place is the opposite of removal.
