When disconnection of the battery is done, several systems will have to be learnt once again before they become functional. Start by unscrewing off the negative battery cable. With front seat belts, open both front and back doors and take out the door sill trim panel which is a single section that extends across front to rear door. Removal of upper and lower B-pillar trim panels, detachment of upper seat belt guide bolt and release of guide by the height adjuster of the belt, follows. To remove the seat belt, pull on the catch of the seat belt wire, then unconnect the electrical connectors to the seat belt pretensioner, eliminate the lower anchor bolt and the pretensioner reel assembly bolt and then remove the seat belt. Installation is the opposite of removal as it takes care to examine and cleanse the bolt threads and verify that the belt is not twisted before attaching the lower seat mount side. To replace a belt buckle, remove the seat in front, then undo the buckle fastener and buckle at the bottom of the seat with replacement being the opposite procedure. In the case of rear seat belts, remove the rear seat cushion and the rear parcel shelf trim in the sedan, detach the electrical connector of the belt retractor that is found in the trunk, and take off lower anchor point fasteners and belt end. Then pull out the belt retractor fastener and, in case of the middle belt, the belt guide and then pull out the belt retractor and seat belt out of the trunk. The opposite of this is installation whereby before fitting the lower seat mount side the belt should not be twisted. To replace rear belt buckle, remove the seat cushion and the seat back, then unload the fastener of the belt as well as the buckle of the floorpan and the installation is the opposite of the removal and also make sure that the belt is not twisted when installing the bottom part of the mount.
