The rear wiper arm of the station wagon models is detached the same way that the front wiper blades are. One must check the windshield wiper and wiper blade assembly periodically to ascertain whether it is damaged, loose component and that the blade elements are broken or worn out. The wiper blades should also be washed with a mild detergent solution regularly to ensure that the blades are not accumulated with road film that may compromise their performance. The wiping mechanism may lead to the loosening of bolts, nuts and fasteners and therefore these should be examined and tightened when necessary when checking the wiper blades. In case the wiper blade components are discovered to be broken, old, bent, or inefficient in cleaning, new ones should be installed. In order to take off the wiper arm, insert a rag in between the hood and the surface that the wiper arm might touch the hood with, then pull the assembly out of the glass. This is followed by pressing the locking tab and pushing it upwards until it clips into place, pushing the wiper blade until it goes to its limit, and sliding the blade off the arm. The opposite process of removal is the installation.
