How to properly discharge and replace the A/C condenser on 2005 Volkswagen Passat?

Release the air conditioning system and elevate the car in a safe manner. Take out the power steering oil cooler line, front bumper and splash shield. Uncouple the condenser lines and the A/C pressure switch. Take out the condenser with retaining pins. Install back the order, with new O-rings and refrigerant oil in place of condenser.
