How to remove and install the Door Lock Cylinder, Lift Support and Trunk Lid Latch on 2005 Volkswagen Passat?

The latch is removed by removing the inner trim panel, lock rod, marking the locus of the latch, unscrewing the nuts and taking out the lock unit. To install, undo the process. With the lock cylinder, unscrew nuts, detach the operating rod and unplug the vacuum hose. Installation procedure is similar.
