Removing the latch requires first removing the inner trim panel on the trunk lid, and then unconnecting the lock operating rod with the latch. Indicate the position of the latch which is fitted with a marker pen, unscrew the retaining nuts and remove the lock unit of the trunk lid plugging out the wiring connector. In order to install, repeat the steps in the reversing procedure but have to make sure that the bolt heads are positioned according to the marks left during the removing process. In the lock cylinder, disconnect the central locking vacuum hose (where fitted), unscrew the retaining nuts and then remove the lock cylinder unit out of the trunk lid. With the model being of the type with central locking, take the operating rod off the joint by unclipping the plastic fastener and turning the joint, keeping the rod in the lever. Unplug the wiring to the lock cylinder unit when it becomes accessible, and when this has a vacuum unit, disconnect it by pressing the locking tab with a screwdriver, as does the central locking switch unit. Removal is followed by installation. The trunk lid supports are taken off just like the hood support struts.
