How to remove and install a valve cover for V6 engines on 2005 Volkswagen Passat?

To be able to take out the valve cover, remove engine cover, unscrew spark plugs wires, and any connected wiring or hoses. Take out the retaining nuts, and pound the cover off in case it is stuck. Wipe down surfaces, place gaskets, apply sealant where necessary and replace the cover ensuring nuts are tightened and no leaks exist.
