Front and rear bumpers are made up of fascia or bumper cover and metal structural beam with some minor differences in some models in the sequences of removal. In order to take off the front bumper cover, lift the car and undo the negative battery connection. Unscrew the bottom bumper cover mounting screws and then unscrew the hood from the top to get to the top mounting screws. The fenderwell splash shield has lower section which can be peeled back to reach the fenderwell bumper fasteners on each side. In case of the presence of a front spoiler, dismount its mounting fasteners and pull off the spoiler. With caution, stiffen the edges of the bumper cover at the rear, unclip them of the fenderwell, and draw the grille forward to loosen the retaining tabs at the bottom. Unplug any electrical connectors of the bumper-mounted parts, and then push the bumper assembly out and be careful of the paint and any headlight wiper hoses. Installation is done in the same order but in a reverse manner, to make sure that the alignment occurs, and the parking assist system can require calibration after the installation. In the case of the bumper support beam, take off the bolts joining the beam to the frame and put the beam back by attaching all the fasteners and then tightening them loosely. In the case of the rear bumper cover, first take out the taillight housing fitted into the body, then operate in the rear wheelwells, unscrewing fasteners in the liner and the evaporator canister shield. Take out the lower fasteners, which are under the bumper, release the sides of the bumper cover and release the upper tabs out of the taillight housing recess. Unscrew any electrical connectors that have attached to bumper-mounted parts, and then push the bumper assembly out with care. Removal is the opposite of reinstallation, making sure that everything is properly aligned and then tightened after which the parking assist system may be calibrated as well. In the case of the rear bumper support beam, the bolts attaching it to the frame are removed, where certain models might have brackets to the blind-spot detection system which must be removed before the support beam itself is removed, and then replaced by loosely fitting all the fasteners before tightening.
