Depending on the model trim level the console layout can differ and other electrical connections or fasteners might not be found in this process and, as a result, one should be attentive to any extra parts during the center console removal. You can start by setting the shift lever in the neutral position and parking the brake. In case of manual transaxle, pull off the gear shift knob and boot, whereas in the case of automatic transmission, pull off the shifter trim panel and shift lever. In the event that the vehicle has a CD changer that is blocking the part of the front of the console, remove it. Then take off the side trim panels of the center console by un-screwing the fasteners, pushing down to unscrew the clips, and unscrewing the tab in front by pulling it out of the slot. Move the seats, remove the caps, and remove the rear console fasteners on each side. Open the console storage compartment lidded lid, remove the carpeting, the bottom panel, and the storage compartment fasteners. Removed the start/stop and front accessory switch panel by unscrewing its fasteners, lifting it, and removing all the electrical connectors. Replace the center console front which contains the fasteners by prying open the small trim panel, removing the upper-front retaining screws, and the lower-front retaining screws on each side. Unscrew the rear storage compartment panel and unmistakably the cigarette lighter connector, and to a better access, pushing the lighter through the panel may help. Open the parking brake lever trim by pressing it upwards and off the lever. Lastly, the center console is detached by lifting it at the back, making sure that all of the electrical connectors are not attached, and pulling to the back of the vehicle. The process of installation is the reversed of the one of removal, so that the clips at the lower ends of the front of the console, may fit into the support trim work of the instrument panel.
