  To open the latch, first open the Hood and take off the front Bumper cover, depending on the model it might not be necessary. By opening the release coupling disconnected the hood latch cable between the mid-way point of disconnection and the main disconnection point. For this step, remove the latch fasteners, detach the electrical connector to the latch assembly, and lift the latch assembly off the radiator support, be sure to unlock the hood latch release cable and the latch wiring harness off the clips along the radiator support. After taking off the latch, separate the release cable and hood latch switch out of the latch assembly by pressing the tab and pushing out the parts. Take any required parts and make them available to the new latch and install it by following the same steps in the reverse order. With a support strut fitted, open the hood and place it firmly; a small screwdriver is then needed to raise the retaining springs at one end of the support strut on one end and the same on the other end and then remove the support strut by unscrewing the same. The support strut as well is installed in the reverse of being removed.
