How to effectively remove and install a tie rod end on Volkswagen Jetta?

Removing the tie-rod end requires loosening the front wheel bolts, then using the parking brake, lifting the front of the vehicle and placing it on the jackstands firmly then removing the front wheel. The second step involves clamping the tie-rod with locking pliers or a wrench and loosening the jam nut to an extent that would allow a mark to be made on the position of the tie-rod end with reference to the threads. Unscrew the nut at the tie-rod end of the same stud, and disconnect it to the steering knuckle arm with a puller and remove the nut and the tie-rod end. Unscrew tie-rod end of the tie-rod. To install it, insert the tie-rod end through the labeled spot and locate the stud through the steering knuckle arm and screw the jam nut tightly. Install the nut on the stud and clamp it to the correct level of tightness. Lastly, attach the wheel and wheel bolts, drop the vehicle and screw the wheel bolts to the appropriate torque making sure the alignment is verified and corrected where needed.
