The air conditioning system needs to be discharged, and then the vehicle must be elevated and jackstands must be used to hold the vehicle firmly. Install the radiator support panel in the service position and remove the refrigerant lines off the accumulator and seal or plug the remaining open lines with an immediate effect so as to avoid entry of dirt or moisture. Place the accumulator out of the mounting bracket. To install, in case the accumulator is to be replaced by a new one, it is necessary to add fresh refrigerant oil to the new unit, being sure that it is compatibly R-134a. Install the inlet and outlet lines by placing the new accumulator in the bracket, and using clean refrigerant oil on the new O-rings, and tighten the refrigerant lines. Lastly, evacuate the system, recharge it, and leak test it by a service department of a dealership or an automotive air conditioning repair facility.
