The engine cover is removed by removing the air intake duct and air cleaner housing, in that order. Then lift up the front of the car and place it with jackstands and take the splash guard out underneath the engine compartment. Unhook the front exhaust pipe off of the exhaust manifold, get the air conditioning refrigerant emptied and recycled by a technician and then get the radiator support panel removed. Take off the exhaust manifold heat shields, and in order to take off the right manifold, remove the oil level dipstick tube. Next, disconnect the nuts and take out the exhaust manifold and the gasket on the front of the engine compartment, and grease the manifold mounting nuts/bolts with penetrating oil. To install it, scraper all old gasket material and carbon deposits off the mating surfaces of the manifold and on the
Cylinder Head at the automotive machine shop and check the manifold to warp. Install a new gasket on the cylinder head studs, the manifold, and the nuts of the mounting are installed, with hi-temp anti-seizing compound applied to the exhaust manifold mounting nuts. Install the nuts/bolts to the stated torque, re-fit the rest of the parts in the reverse order and lastly, start the engine to ensure no leakages of exhaust.
