In case of disconnection of the battery then a few systems would require re-learning before they would become useful. To remove it, the release cylinder is found on the top of the transaxle housing on 5-speed models with access to the engine compartment, whereas the release bear and release cylinder is one unit in the bellhousing of the transaxle on 6-speed models. Start by taking out the cable of the negative side of the battery. Then, we take out the engine top cover and air filter assembly, battery and battery tray. Unscrew the gear selector cables attached to the lever of the gear selectors, unscrew the clip and extract the relay lever. Take out the top nut and get out the selector lever of the transaxle. Either loosen transaxle support bracket mounting fasteners and the bracket or, in most cases, just inadvertently drop the bracket onto the support bracket. Keep some rags in hand, some of the fluid will spilt upon the removal of the line. In the release cylinder pull the fluid pipe retaining clip out of the union then pull the pipe out of the union. Installation Remove release cylinder fasteners and remove the release cylinder in the transaxle. To install, smear the end of the pushrod with copper grease and put lithium-base grease in the place where the boot fits into the bore in the transaxle. Fit the release cylinder in place and make sure that it is firmly seated in its bores to fit the pushrod in the release lever. Attach the pressure line with the cylinder, place the clip and make sure the line is firmly fixed in place. Install the release cylinder mounting bolt and screw it to the required torque. The other part of the installation is in the opposite sequence of de-installation and there are other procedures that involve bleeding of the system, verifying the amount of fluid in the brake fluid reservoir, and refilling where required and cleaning off spilled crimson brake fluid with water.
