  • Q: How to remove and install the front crankshaft seal and front oil seal on the crankshaft sprocket on 2003 Volkswagen Passat?
    A: Take off the timing belt and crankshaft sprocker, and pry out the front seal, but not the housing. Wipe out the bore, grease the new seal with oil and push it in firmly. Clean surfaces prior to the use of RTV sealant and the reinstatement of parts. After running, inspect the engine with regard to oil leaks.
