2005 Volkswagen Passat Sway Bar Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear Sway Bar and rear Sway Bar Bushing on 2005 Volkswagen Passat?
A: The rear stabilizer bar is axle-mounted on 2WD models (not removable), and its damage will necessitate replacement of the entire axle. In the case of AWD, loosen wheel bolts, lift the vehicle and take out rear wheels. Unscrew stabilizer bar, check and replace bushings as necessary, and replace all pieces, tightening to given torque.
