What precautions should be taken when disconnecting the battery and replacing the high-pressure fuel pump on 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit?

Once the battery is disconnected there are a number of systems that have to be learnt again. De-fuel, undo the negative connection and in the case of BPY engines, place to TDC. Disconnect low fuel pressure sensor and fuel pressure regulator on SPY engines. Disassemble high-pressure pump, change the O-ring, and put it back again.
