How to remove and install the Air Filter Box on Volkswagen Cabrio?

In order to take out the air cleaner assembly, loosen the worm drive clamps and un-connect the air ducting with the air cleaner assembly. The second step involves removing the rubber loops on the lugs of the chassis member. Next, drag the air cleaner towards the engine and remove the air intake hose through the port on the inner fender and then remove air cleaner out of the engine bay. Then pry the retaining clips open, and the top cover of the air cleaner to remove the air cleaner filter element. To install, reverse the removal process but be sure to connect the mounting lug with the recess in the inner fender.
