On installation, new feed line fitting bolt sealing washers will be needed. In order to take out the power steering pump, one must first loosen the retaining bolts of the steering pump pulley, loosen the tension of the drivebelt and disconnect the drivebelt with the pump pulley. Apply brake hose clamps and clamp the supply and the return hose close to the power steering fluid reservoir to reduce the loss of fluid. Open the retaining bolts and detach the pulley on the power steering pump, paying attention to the way it was installed. Unscrew the retaining clamp and unplug the fluid supply hose at the pump and cut and discard any clamp crimp of any type that may be installed and in its place, attach a standard worm-drive hose clamp. Relax the fitting bolt and remove the feed line of the pump, de-assemble the sealing washers and set up to receive fluid spillage by capping the hose/line end and pump unions. Then loosely screw the power steering pump pivot bolt and adjuster bolt and remove the pump and swivel bracket assembly out of the main mounting bracket and remove the pump out of the mounting bracket should it be needed. To install, as required, mounting bracket can be attached to engine and secured by tightening its bolts to a given torque. Attach the pump and swivel bracket and apply the mounting bolts to the required torque level. Make sure that the pump is primed, by introducing hydraulic fluid into the pump supply hose fitting and rotating the pump shaft, then fitting the pump assembly and fitting the pivot and adjuster bolts loosely. Install a new sealing washer at each end of the feed line fitting, place fitting bolt and attach it to specific torque. Connect the supply line to the pump and firmly clamp its retaining clip and then take away the brake hose clamps. Install the drive pulley and attach it with its holding bolts, install the drivebelt to the pump pulley and tension it. Lastly, screw on the pulley retaining bolts to required torque and bleed the hydraulic system.
