Windshield and rear wiper and blade should be periodically checked to ensure that there is no damage, loose parts, and broken or worn out blade parts. The wiper blades may accumulate road film on them, which may interfere with their effectiveness and therefore must be washed frequently using a low concentration of detergents. The wiping mechanism may loosen the bolts, nuts, and fasteners, and this should be ensured that it is checked and tightened when the wiper blades are inspected. In case the elements of the wiper blades are broken, damaged or distorted they should be changed with new ones. You will need to swivel the blade 90 degrees to the arm, lock the tab and slide the blade out of the hooked end of the arm in order to remove the wiper blade assembly. Removing the blade, remove the rubber element by holding onto the end of the wiper bridge with one hand and the other hand with the element by the end part of the element then remove the end of the part of the element by the claw of the bridge and slide it out. Compare the new element to the old in terms of length and design, take the metal retainers of the old element, and fit them in the new element. Insert the new component and hold the claw in place in the notches, and then use the blade assembly back on the arm, wet the glass, and test to verify that the component is functioning correctly.
