How to remove and install a front fender on Volkswagen Passat?

Unscrew the wheel bolts, lift the vehicle up in the air, then place it on jackstands so that it is firmly held, and then detach the front wheel. The second step is to pull off the front bumper and the inside fender well of the side the fender will be pulled. Removing the closeout panel between the fender and the door, at the back of the front fender-well, is necessary to reach the retaining bolts attaching the fender to the "A" pillar, but a heat gun is used to make the adhesives on the closeout panel soft, and on such parts, without heating the plastic too much. Take the bolt attaching the fender to the "A" pillar out and then open the door so as to remove the upper fender-to-door pillar bolt in the doorjamb. Peel off the plastic moulding and screw off the bolts that hold the lower half fender to the rocker panel. In the case of Audi, do away with the headlight side marker light assembly. Next, taking off the bolt that attaches the fender to the front support brace and the mounting bolts that attach the top of the fender, then finally unattach the hood release cable to the fender. Removal of the fender is to be done carefully in consultation with help in order to avoid damaging the body panels around it. When removing, the order is actually the same in the process of installing to make sure that all the nuts, bolts, and screws are tight, and lastly, to tighten the wheel bolts to the taught specification.
