In the passenger compartment, remove the driver's side kick panel and the screws securing the hood release handle, then pull the handle downward to release the cable. Attach a wire or string to the end of the old cable, and in the engine compartment, release the cable grommet from the cowl and the clips at the inner edge of the left front fender well until the cable is free. Pull the cable through the cowl into the engine compartment, connect the string or wire to the new cable, and pull it through the cowl into the passenger compartment. Complete the installation by fastening all cable retaining clips in their original location and seating the cable grommet properly.
