The lever is connected to the parking brake cables using a compensator plate and each cable is removable. First lift the car up and place it on jackstands safely, and unscrew the nuts and take off the exhaust system heat shields to reach the front end of the parking brake cable. Take the locking ring out of the first cable adjust collar of the parking brake and turn the collar counterclockwise as much as possible. This is done by understanding the front and back part of the cable of the parking brake on both sides of the adjustment collar and pushing the two ends of the cable together making the greatest rivalry and do the same to the other cable. At the rear
Brake Caliper nearest the front, loosen the metal clip at the back, disconnection of the parking brake cable casing at its lugs, letting the inner cable out of its lever and out of the caliper, and so at the other caliper. Follow each parking brake cable back, and make sure that it is properly routed, free of all attaching clips and brackets. Unscrew the nuts, unfit the rear heat shield of the exhaust system, and unscrew the spring clips, then loosen the cable of the parking brake, then release the cables of the floorpan. Use caution to pull the parking brake cable grommets out of the parking brake lever housing lower part. In the car, release the parking brake cables of the compensator at the rear of the parking brake lever by inserting a screwdriver through the hole in the parking brake lever mounting bracket, and pulling the cables through the floorpan through the bottom of the car. To install, do the reversing procedure, ensuring that the cable is properly installed and kept by all the needed clips and ties and that cable grommets are placed correctly in the underside of the parking brake lever housing before changing the operation of the parking brake.
