How to remove and install the rear axle shaft on the rear axle on 2005 Volkswagen Passat?

In order to detach the rear axle, loosen wheel bolts, chock front wheels, and place the vehicle on jackstands. Disconnect parking brake cables, decommission brake parts and disconnect ABS sensor. To replace, disassemble when required, insert brake hose plugs and realign when replacing. Check all fasteners, and check alignment.
