To unlock the hood, you must open the hood and then any appropriate screwdriver will be used to unlock the upper and bottom retaining lugs of the radiator grille, and then the grille can be moved forward and off the car. The second step would be to outline the hood lock with an appropriate marker pen on the crossmember, loosen the two bolts that hold the lock and remove the support strut bolt. Connect the lock support strut out of the hood crossmember by unscrewing the retaining bolt. Unlock the outer cable with the lock lever, un-clip the inner cable with the lock bracket and un-mount the lock on the car. To install, make sure all remnants of old locking compound are erased on the hood retaining bolts and its thread on the body. Find the inner cable of the hood release in the lock bracket and reconnect the outer cable to the lever, and then place the lock on the crossmember. Install a fitting locking compound on the thread of the lock retaining bolts, position the lock in the pattern of the marks made previously, attach the bolts and tighten them to the correct torque level. Install the supporting strut and tighten its holding bolts firmly and carefully and then clip on the radiator grille. Lastly, ensure that the lock slides freely without unreasonable resistance and the hood attaches and releases well; in case of any needed adjustment, loosen the lock holding bolts, position the lock and finally tighten the lock holding bolts to the required torque.
