- Q: What steps should be taken if the battery is disconnected and How to access the Camshaft Position Sensor on Volkswagen Jetta?A:Two CMP sensors are fitted on 1.4L engines and Golf 2.0L turbocharged engines (CXCA, CXCB, DKFA), and the battery will require re-learning of several systems to make them work correctly. To begin with, remove the cable of the negative battery terminal. CMP sensor is either at the rear end of cylinder head cover on 1.4L engines, beneath the camshaft sprocker on 2.0L non-turbocharged engines, on the front side of cylinder head cover just below the oil filler cap on 1.8L and 2.0L turbocharged engines, or on the camshaft guide frame on 2.5L five-cylinder engines, where the 2.0L turbocharged engines CXCA, CXCB, DKFA sensor 2 is mounted In the case of 2.0L non-turbocharged engines, take out the timing belt cover. In 1.8L and 2.0L turbocharged (and Golf CXCA, CXCB, DKFA, sensor 1), the sensor is located behind the intake manifold and can be accessed by removing it. Disconnect CMP sensor electrical connector, remove CMP sensor mounting fastener then CMP sensor on all engines. The opposite of removal is installation.
