On 1.4L engines, the oil pressure switch is located on the rear of the engine block, behind the driveaxle heat shield. To access it, raise and support the front of the vehicle on jackstands, remove the engine undercover, and take out the passenger's driveaxle heat shield bolts to remove the heat shield. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch, unscrew and remove the switch from the engine block, discard the old seal, and use a new one for installation if reusing the switch. The installation follows the reverse order of removal. The reduced oil pressure switch on 1.4L engines is found on the front of the engine block near the alternator. Detach the EVAP canister purge valve from the intake manifold, locate the switch, disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew and remove the switch, discard the old seal, and use a new one for installation if reusing the switch, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 1.8L, 2.0L, and 2.5L engines, the oil pressure and reduced oil pressure switches are positioned differently: on 2.0L CBPA engines, both switches are on the oil filter housing, while on other 1.8L and 2.0L engines, the oil pressure switch is on the rear of the engine block and the reduced oil pressure switch is on the oil filter housing assembly. In 2.5L engines, both switches are located on the engine block near the oil filter housing assembly. For 2.0L CBPA engines, the EVAP canister must be removed. To remove the oil pressure switch on 1.8L and 2.0L engines (except CBPA), raise and support the front of the vehicle, locate the switches, disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the switch from the engine block or oil filter housing, discard the old seal, and use a new one for installation if reusing the switch, with installation being the reverse of removal.
