How to remove the intake duct resonator and air filter box on Volkswagen Passat?

Take out the intake duct resonator screws and remove the resonator and air filter cover. Unplug the electrical contacts of the Mass Airflow sensor, power transistor, and EVAP purge valve when necessary and remove the wiring harness on the air filter cover and place it aside. On DOHC V6 models, unscrew the purge valve off the cover and set aside the purge valve and hoses. Unscrew the hose clamp and disconnect the air intake duct with Mass Airflow sensor. When it is equipped, unplug the secondary air injection pump hose at the air filter cover loosen the latches and then remove the cover along with the Mass Airflow sensor attached to it and then discard the air filter element. Removal of mounting bolt, lift the housing, and disconnect it to the grommets on the inner fender, and remove the assembly out of the engine compartment. Installation is in the opposite sequence of removal.
