Relax the bolts of a rear wheel, take the rear of the car and place it on jackstands in a stable position without rolling by blocking the front wheels. Take out the wheel at the rear and then remove the coil spring. Put the subframe on the side in which the upper arm will be pulled off with a floor jack, disconnect the wire of the speed sensor to the upper arm, and label how the adjuster cam belongs to the upper control arm and the subframe and fastener. Unscrew the upper control arm-to-subframe fasteners, the upper arm-to-knuckle fastener, and remove the arm, remembering to record the position of the washer on the arm-to-knuckle fastener to re-install it in the same location. Check the bushings, damaged and worn; remove arm to auto machine shop in case of replacement. To install, it will be necessary to use new fasteners, ensure that all suspension fasteners are not firmly tightened until the rear suspension is compressed in order to simulate normal ride height to prevent bushing distortion, posit the cam adjuster into position, and tighten all fasteners to the correct torque. Fit the wheel and wheel bolts, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel bolts and then check and adjust the rear wheel alignment. To the lower control arm, disconnect the vehicle level sensor connection (where fitted), de-assemble the rear coil spring, indicate the relationship between the cam adjuster and de-assemble the lower control arm-to-knuckle mounting and lower control arm-to-subframe mounting. Disconnect the arm with the subframe and examine the bushings, changing them when required. Installation is done in the same reverse order keeping the same precaution on fixing fasteners and alignment. In case of the tie-rod, disassemble by taking off the coil spring, stabilizer links and brackets, taking off the tie-rod-to-subframe and tie-rod-to-knuckle mounting fasteners. Check the bushings which are not replaceable individually and change the tie-rod in case of damage. The reverse would be installation, whereby new fasteners would be used, and tie-rod mounting fasteners would not be tightened until the suspension had been raised. Lastly, to the trailing arm, loosen the rear coil spring, undo the parking brake cable bracket, undo the stabilizer link and undo the trailing arm-to-knuckle fastener and the trailing arm bracket-to-body fastener. Once the arm is separated, with the knuckle and body, pull off the through-bolt/nut to free the arm of the bracket, examine the bushings and replace them as needed. Installation is an opposite procedure to removal and the focus on the use of new fasteners and proper torque and alignment adjustments is made.
