Engine mounts do not usually need any attention, however, damaged or worn out mounts ought to be changed straight away to avoid damage or wear of drive line parts. On the check, it is necessary to lift the engine a little to unload the mounts. Lift the car and place it on jackstands and place a jack under the engine oil pan with a big wood block between the jack head and the oil pan, to avoid damage and raise the engine to a position where it will fail to rest on the mounts. Check mounts which are cracked or hardened rubber or separated at the center of the bushing. Test relative motion between the mount and engine or chassis with a large screwdriver or prybar; indiscriminately, in case of such movement, move the engine downward and secure the mount fasteners. In case of battery disconnection, a number of systems will have to be re-teamed before they can be restored to operation. Lift the car and place the car on jackstands unless already done and support the engine. Take off the splash shield provided under the vehicle. To install the support mount of the pendulum, loosen the pendulum mount-to-subframe bolt, the pendulum-to-transmission bolts and bracket, and pull the pendulum mount out of the subframe and then remove the pendulum support. Align the pendulum mount to the subframe, fit the bracket and transmission-to-pendulum bolts, and screw the bolts to the correct torque and then fit the splash shield once more. To remove the passenger side engine mount remove the heat shield above the inboard joint of the right driveaxle and then lift the engine. When reaching the engine compartment, work at the top here and remove the engine cover, and the coolant reservoir, and, as necessary, windshield washer reservoir. Put the floor jack under the engine with a wood block between the jack head and the oil pan and press the engine a little to take the weight off the mounts. Unscrew the fasteners and support bracket and mount, and then take everything off, then screw everything back, with thread-locking compound applied to the mount bolts and screwed firmly.
