Volkswagen Rabbit Fender

The Volkswagen Rabbit Fender protects the vehicle against flying debris in the road as well as cushions the impact of minor bumps in the parking lot, thereby making daily commuting more secure and cleaner. This panel, attached at the front ends of the body and covering the wells of the wheels, prevents sand, stones, water, and winter salt, which the spinning tire would otherwise project forward, from pedestrians and passing cars. It also smooths airflow by covering the turbulent gap around the tire and therefore trims drag and slightly raises fuel efficiency. Two fundamental Fender placements, front quarter panel and rear quarter panel, are offered to owners, each fitted to suit the shape of the sheet metal around it, but having the same protective functions. The shape of the compact Volkswagen hatchback has varied through the generations of the vehicle, with changes in style features, yet the primary differences are location dependent, those of the front part of the car with a headlamp and a bumper interface, and those of the rear parts integrated into the door line and C-pillar. The right panel should match a vehicle of a particular size so it fits correctly into its place, and all bolts should fit without any unnecessary gaps, and the silhouette should be as clean as it was at the factory. Since these components are located in the splash zone, which is prone to damage, dents, chips, and rust are bound to be evident, and this is when it is time to replace the components so that the Volkswagen profile, safety margin, and aerodynamic edge are not lost. All the Volkswagen fans who maintain their Rabbit on the road are able to see the importance of knowing how the Fender functions and why it's important to maintain it in good condition.

Volkswagen Rabbit Fender Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install a fender on Volkswagen Rabbit?
    A:
Relax the wheel bolts, and then need to elevate the front part of the vehicle and prop it firmly on jackstands before removing the wheel. The second step is to take out the splash shield at the bottom of the engine, then the Bumper cover in the front. Continue to remove inner fender splash shield fasteners and inner fender splash shield. Detach and then remove the two fender-to-door pillar fasteners in the door jamb, followed by the lowermount fasteners of the fender. Proceed with taking off the fasteners that hold the fender to the front support brace and the lower inner fenderwell brace. Then remove the screws that hold the top of the fender and loosen the Hood Release Cable of the fender on the right. Attentively remove the fender; preferably with the assistance of another person to avoid damaging neighboring body parts. To install, remove the process in the opposite direction, and make sure that all the fasteners are firmly tightened, and tighten the wheel bolts to the required torque.
