Removing the tie-rod end removes the lug nuts on the front wheel, which is as follows. first loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel, place the parking brake, raise the front of the car and place on the jackstands securing the weight of the front wheel. The next step would be to position the tie-rod in a locking pliers or a wrench so that the position of the tie-rod end can be marked in reference to the threads. To loosen the nut in the tie-rod end stud, and then lose it but leave it in place, and disconnect the tie-rod end to the steering knuckle arm with a puller, and remove the nut and the tie-rod end. Unscrew the tie-rod portion off the tie-rod. To install, by attaching, thread the tie-rod end on the marked location and screw the stud in the steering knuckle arm and screw the jam nut firmly. Install the nut on the stud and screw it to the required torque. The last step is to install the wheel and lug nuts, then lower the car and tighten the lug nuts with a defined torque and make sure to have the alignment checked and changed where necessary.
