In removing the wiper arm, one has to turn the wiper motor on and then off so that the arm can be brought to the at-rest position. Installation Use a strip of masking tape to make a guide on the edge of the wiper blade. Peel the wiper arm spindle nut cover, then loosen and remove the nut of the spindle. Lift the blade of the screwdriver away off the glass and release the wiper arm off its spindle using a flat-bladed screwdriver, in case of difficulty. When both windshield wiper arms are being removed, label them to be identified because they are not interchangeable. To install, the wiper arm and spindle splines should be clean and dry and the arm should then be installed on the spindle and the wiper blade aligned with the tape. Tightly screw the spindle nut and attach the nut cover again.
