Volkswagen Rabbit Air Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install the Air Temperature Sensor on Volkswagen Rabbit?
    A:
In four cylinder models, the IAT sensor is found in the rear of the intake manifold. Start by de-engine covering, and then unconnection of the electrical connector of the IAT sensor. The next step is to pull out the IAT sensor mounting fastener and pull the sensor out of the intake manifold. Installation is the contraposite, and one should not discard the O-ring because it has no replacement component, and it is just offered with a new sensor. In five-cylinder models, which apply to 2008 and earlier, the air inlet duct should be removed first. Unscrew the hose clamp and take the air intake duct off the body of the MAF sensor, and unscrew the electrical connector on the IAT sensor. Turn the IAT sensor anti-clockwise to disconnect it with the duct, some models can have a clip in the air inlet and connect the IAT sensor to the duct. Removal is the opposite of installation.
