When the battery is not connected, a number of systems will have to be re-learned before they can perform properly. Start with taking off the engine cover. Unhook the cable with the negative end of the battery. Drain the cooling system, new coolant can be reused, used antifreeze must be handled carefully. Take out battery and battery tray. Label the hoses to the heater, and then loosen the locking clips and unconnect the hoses at the heater core inlet and outlet on the engine side of the firewall. After unscrewing the heater hoses, loosen the little bolt at the coolant pipes. Clean as much coolant out of the heater core tubes with a suction gun, and stuff the open core tubes. Eliminate lower side of the center console trim. Take off the fasteners and the cover of the heater core, taking note that the temperature door lever can be in the way of the top retaining fastener, adjust the hot and fresh air controls to shift the lever when needed. Loose the fasteners of heater core tube clamps, wrap the carpet with a piece of plastic sheeting to help avoid spillage of the coolant, and put a rag or small drain pan at the bottom of the tubes before immensely great care is taken to loosen the tubes, striving not to spill any onto the carpet. After all the coolant is drained, remove heater core in the housing. The opposite of removal is installation and it should be used to make sure that there are original material of insulating or sealing around the pipes of the heater core and core itself. Refill/bleed the cooling system and start the engine and ensure that it is operating properly.
