How to remove the Steering Column Cover and lower cover from the steering column and instrument cluster on Volkswagen Rabbit?

Pry up the trim piece from the end of the column and instrument cluster. Pull down on the steering column tilt lever, lower the column, and remove the lower trim and fastener. Pry up the upper cover and remove it by carefully pulling up on the upper trim and disconnecting the clips, then remove the lower cover mounting fasteners. With the upper cover removed, rotate the steering wheel and remove the lower cover fasteners at the front of the cover. Finally, remove the lower cover, and installation is the reverse of removal.
